Biyela MM Geomatics (Pty) Ltd: PROFILE
The company is owned by one professional land surveyor and one topographical engineering surveyor both of whom are registered with the South African Geomatics Council. We have two permanent employees who perform the duties of surveying assistants. Shares in the company are split 60% black youth owned and 40% white male owned and we are proud of the fact that our professional land surveyor and the two assistants are young and energetic members of the local rural community. Between the four of us and drawing on the years of experience of the older director, we can tackle any kind of surveying work no matter how tough it looks.

Recently published unemployment rate statistics in South Africa indicate that there is a vast number of unemployed people and one of our founding visions is to be part of creating work for especially the youth, hence we formed the company to play a role in decreasing the rate of unemployed young people in South Africa. This is based on the personal knowledge of Mfundo Biyela who has experienced the feeling of not being employed.
One of our missions is that of empowering the local communities especially the youth through job creation. This we can achieve by hiring casual labourers within the communities where we are working. We also achieve that by giving our time to the community youth when they approach us and ask questions about our professions and how they can apply to become part of the surveying fraternity, should they wish to do so.
The company is categorised into two components or branches. One is the Land Surveying and Sectional Title branch and the other the Topographical, Engineering Surveying branch. This means that the company offers services in the key components of surveying in implementing special planning and development.
