Pitstop Auto Centre, previously known as Parkers Pitstop, was acquired by Waleed Baker in 1991. Waleed Baker was previously part of the Parkers Pitstop team and his passion and vision for establishing the perfect all encompassing Auto Fitment Centre, along with his keen sense of entrepreneurship, led to the founding of Pitstop Auto Centre in 1992.
Waleed Baker’s vision and hopes of establishing the perfect all encompassing Auto Fitment Centre begun with the gearing of his first Branch in Woodstock. This branch currently still operates as the Pitstop Head Office and has since become a landmark for all travelling to and from the city centre down the famous Albert Road. In 1996 Parkers was sold to Pitstop and in 1999 Tyre Mart, a large supplier of quality branded tyres, merged with Pitstop in order create an efficient, cost-effective, “One – Stop” service. Pitstop flourished under Baker’s leadership and grew to 16 branches throughout the Western Cape.
Our slogan and vision of “Energy in Action” is based on our passion and commitment to customer service and efficiency. Knowing what our customers want most and what our company does best, then focusing on where the two meet.
Today, there are 10 branches, 3 of which are franchised to the Pitstop Family. Our long term goal is to be known as a National player with family values. We therefore constantly strive towards enhancing the quality and variety of services that we are able to provide to you, our valued customer. The Pitstop Family is continually growing and we would love for you to be a part of the family and experience our “Energy in Action”.
